IIAD Students Win The Park Elle Decor Student Contest 2023

Students of Indian Institute of Art & Design (IIAD) have won The Park Elle Decor Student Contest 2023. Isha Gupta, student of Interior Architecture & Design was declared the Winner of The Park Elle Decor Student Contest 2023 for her Experiential Spaces Project under the Interior Design category. Nitika Jain, also a student of Interior Architecture & Design was given an Honorary Mention for her Heritage Design Project under Interior Design category at India Design ID Week, New Delhi.

As finalists only 4 students were selected from across India, of which 2 were IIAD students and 1 each from NID, Ahmedabad and Symbiosis School of Design, Pune.

Both the students - Isha Gupta and Nitika Jain were felicitated by Priya Paul - Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, Mrudul Pathak Kundu - Editor, Elle Decor, India and Ruchika Mehta - Corporate Director, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels at The Park Booth at India Design ID, New Delhi on 25th Feb 2023.

The Park Elle Decor Student Contest 2023 held at India Design ID, NSIC Grounds - Okhla, New Delhi provides a platform for young artists and designers to take the initiative in bringing their design ideas to life.

The winning design project by Isha Gupta (final year student, IIAD) was on ‘Craft Integration - Experiential Spaces’. It brings forth a sensitive approach to revitalise the traditional practices to elevate the spirit of the space and re-engage people of all ages. It focuses on taking care of a person's both mental and physical needs.

Nitika Jain (third year student, IIAD) won an Honorary Mention by the jury for her project on NVR Experience. NVR stands for Non-Visual Reasoning referring to the ability to understand and analyse the information and solve problems through verbal reasoning. The design is created as a result of extensive user requirement and analysis.

The jury was impressed by the concepts and innovative designs that have the potential to change people’s experience allowing them to connect with the environment in a more efficient and positive way.
