Course Duration: 1 Week (Full-Time) 2D+ 3D Exploration + Observation + Comprehension + Idea Generation + Critical Thinking + Collaborative Problem Solving + Creation + Exhibition
2D+ 3D Exploration
Understand + Explore yourself
The design boot camp helps young minds discover their creativity and imagination through a unique program that combines engaging through exercises along with collaborative projects. It encourages students to expand their creative thinking and inspires them to seek practical solutions to real-world problems. It will enhance the ability of understanding and exploration through various mediums like brush, fabric, paper, pipe etc. You will work under the guidance of mentors, understanding a 2D plane and how these can be transformed into 3D forms. You will be encouraged to make something which articulates “YOU”
Teaching Methods : Project Work, Peer-Feedback, Presentation & Critique of work
WHAT IS DESIGN? Design around you
Observe + Comprehend + Create
Design ecology is an approach to design that recognizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of all living systems and seeks to create sustainable solutions that work in harmony with nature. It is based on the idea that nature is a designer and has evolved over billions of years to create efficient and resilient ecosystems that can adapt to changing conditions. This day is dedicated to design ecology and understanding “Mother Nature” where you will use the design methods of Observation, Visualisation, Representation and Idea Development to ideate and build your contribution that can make the world more beautiful.
Imaginative Design Thinking
Inspiration + Attribute + Form
Inspiration and its attributes can play a crucial role in the creative process of generating design ideas. Inspiration can come from many sources, such as nature, art, culture, history, technology, or personal experiences. The attributes of an inspiration, such as its form, colour, texture, pattern, or function, can provide a starting point for developing a design idea. For example, a designer may be inspired by the natural patterns and colours of a butterfly’s wings. The attributes of the butterfly’s wings, such as their intricate patterns, delicate shapes, and vibrant colours, can be used as a basis for developing a design idea. After understanding the design process you will create your design in a 2D plane that has potential to be transformed into a 3D form.
Design Process
Inquiry + Idea Generation + Critical Thinking + Collaborative Problem Solving
You will be asked to revisit your school in your mind and figure out one thing that you would like changed. You will then go through the design process of inquiry, idea generation, weigh the outcomes, discuss with your group and peers to arrive at a solution that can be implemented. You will write a note and create solutions using 3D Ideas.
DESIGN REALISAION
Observe + Sense + Resolve
After understanding various stages of design over the previous four days, now it is time to create independent design ideas and create a solution for your immediate community. Designing solutions for the community and society is a complex and challenging task that requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Where you will identify a problem, developing a plan, and implement a solution idea in 3 Dimensions.
Exhibition & Display
Exhibition + Creative display + Presentation
Day 6 is about displaying and exhibiting the work done over the last 5 days. Exhibiting a design project requires careful planning, preparation, and execution to effectively showcase your work and engage with your audience. During the exhibition, you will be interacting with your audience and creating opportunities for them to ask questions and provide feedback.
Course Duration: 9 Weeks (Part-Time) Observation + Visualisation + Representation + Idea Development + Experimentation + 3D design + Creative & Critical Thinking + Collaborative Problem Solving
DESIGN STUDIO
Observation + Visualisation + Representation + Idea Development + Realisation + Experimentation + iteration + Visual + 3D design
Design Bootcamp starts with an opportunity to explore a methodical creative process to come up with a theme based visual or 3D design reflecting their individuality. Under the mentor’s guidance, students embark on individual projects designed to interpret a theme and follow a systematic approach that initiates with initial sketches and is systematically pursued to yield end results, encompassing graphics, 3D shapes, wearable accessories, and various other elements. theme. Students are encouraged to utilize their preferred media and materials throughout this creative journey.
On completion of the module students will catalog their work into a professional portfolio format. The entire process concludes with the final design with the processes students have followed.
Teaching Methods : Project Work, Tutorials, Peer-Feedback, Independent Study, Presentation & Critique of work
DESIGN SPRINT
Design Thinking + Inquiry & investigation + Idea Generation & Evaluation + Creative & Critical Thinking + Collaborative Problem Solving
The second project of Design Bootcamp is based on the Design Sprint process for providing human centred solutions to design problems. Students collaborate as a team, employing the principles of design thinking to address a specific challenge within their immediate surroundings. They will undertake a step-by-step process to map out challenges, explore solutions, pick the best ones, create a quick prototype for testing and arrive at a solution that can have a positive social impact. The project serves as an introduction to the utilization of design as a problem-solving approach.
Design Sprint culminates with every team presenting their design proposal to a panel of industry experts; this forms the finale for our Design Bootcamp.
