FOUNDATION CEREMONY-2022 INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ART AND DESIGN, DELHI

Indian Institute of Arts and Design (IIAD), Delhi organised Foundation Ceremony on 25th February 2022 at the campus to facilitate the students of batch 2019 and 2020 who successfully completed their foundation year.The ceremony was presided over by esteemed faculty members and administrators of IIAD, Delhi. The presence of faculties boosted the morale of all the students.The ceremony was organised to recognize the collective efforts of students and faculties to make this day happen.

Foundation is a bridging program, aiding the student transition from school to higher education in design. The journey of all undergraduate design students begins with one year of Foundation. Foundation Course Introduces students to a broad spectrum of design skills and builds their design vocabulary.  Students develop essential creative and critical thinking skills and also learn techniques for research and problem solving, which prepares them for their future design learning.

The students from both the batches were in full attendance wearing black and white which was the dress code for the day. In presenting the certificates to the students Prof. Usha Patel, Dean-Academics shared an anecdote, “No matter what challenges came your way, you shook it off,rose to higher heights, and now you’re ready to pave the way towards a bright future.”

We, as an institute, nurtured student’s sense of accomplishment in authentic ways and distributed pinwheels to cherish their childhood. Pinwheel signifies good luck, longevity, health and prosperity. Then came the most awaited moment of the day, the awarding of the Diplomas to the anxious students who waited with bated breath to proudly strike a pose with their certificates as a mark of successfully achieving the first milestone of their design journey.

Foundation Batch 2019 - 2020

Below is the list of students who were awarded the foundation diploma with a distinction for their extraordinary performance throughout the year from Batch 2019-2020 Gurleen Babbar, Insha Rizvi, Jasleen Kaur, Kanika Agarwal, Kushagra Sharma, Maria Jomy and Varni Aggarwal.

Foundation Batch 2020-2021

Below is the list of students who were awarded the foundation diploma with a distinction for their extraordinary performance throughout the year from Batch 2020-2021;

Ms. Prachi Mittal, Associate Professor - Academic Quality Management at IIAD closed the ceremony with the following emotionally charged message - “We believe in you, create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with, all your life; Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.” The speech received thunderous applause from the students who resonated with each and everything with respect to their learnings and experience at IIAD so far.
