The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) recently hosted another episode of its ongoing initiative Make.Know.Sense— an annual talk show inviting alumni to share their experiences and insights. The aim of this series is to create a sense of community and facilitate learning, acting as a bridge between current IIAD students and alumni. It provides a space for insightful discussions and enables valuable connections.
Make. Know. Sense serves as a platform where students can interact with alumni and faculty members in an open forum, gaining industry insights and creative inspiration about their disciplines. By bringing together alumni who have excelled in their relevant industries, the show offers students a rare opportunity to learn from real-world experiences and perspectives.
In its third episode, the talk show featured distinguished alumni Prashant Kumar and Anchita Bhattacharya. The episode, hosted by Ginu George, assistant professor of fashion design at IIAD, was an engaging dialogue filled with wisdom, humour and inspiration.
Prashant Kumar, a renowned fashion designer and model, shared his expertise in time management, drawing from his experience in both roles. With a portfolio that includes prestigious fashion events like London Fashion Week and a commitment to sustainability, Prashant's insights provided valuable lessons for aspiring designers.
Anchita Bhattacharya, a fashion designer and creative consultant, brought her unique blend of cultural influences and design sensibilities to the conversation. Her work seamlessly merges traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics, pushing the boundaries of fashion innovation. Through her experiences, Anchita exemplified the power of creativity and heritage in shaping modern design narratives.
By creating an informal environment that encourages candid conversations, questions, and even humour, Make. Know. Sense goes beyond traditional talk shows. This approach not only makes learning more accessible but also fosters genuine connections between guests and the audience. It serves as a vital resource for IIAD students, offering them access to successful alumni, industry insights, and networking opportunities. As the show continues to grow, it reaffirms IIAD's commitment to nurturing talent, fostering creativity, and preparing students for success in the dynamic world of design through industry-integrated activities.
