Indian Institute of Art & Design (IIAD) celebrates its fifth Convocation Ceremony

The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) successfully hosted its 5th Convocation Ceremony on January 20th, 2024 at the Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests from the institute's leadership including Mr. Ajit Chadha - Chairperson, Dr. Jitin Chadha - Founder & CEO, IIAD and Prof. Usha Patel - Director, Academics, IIAD. Notable attendees also included course leaders, professors and the presence of Ms. Mandy Ure - Dean & Pro Vice-Chancellor for Sustainability & Inclusion, Kingston University.

Dr. Jitin Chadha commenced the ceremony by praising the Class of 2023 for their self-guided learning journey and the invaluable lessons they absorbed under their mentors. In his address, he emphasized three pivotal lessons: learning from failures for discernment, building tolerance for ambiguity as change-makers and embracing empathy for effective leadership and positive impact on the world.

Prof. Usha Patel delivered an emotionally charged address, guiding the audience through a reflective journey on the dedication, experiences, challenges and milestones of the IIAD students. She highlighted that the graduates stood not only as scholars but as vessels filled with a rich blend of knowledge, experience and resilience.

Following her address, certificates were conferred upon students from the Communication Design, Fashion Design, and Interior Architecture & Design programs spanning the batch of 2019 to 2023. Post-graduate students in Fashion Business Management and Fashion Design from the class of 2023 also received their awards.

Ms. Mandy Ure extended heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2023 in her address, commending their hard work and expressing wishes for success in their future endeavors. The convocation ceremony was marked by a joyous atmosphere, with families and friends enthusiastically cheering for the students.

Notable scholars, including Lavanya Sirohi from Fashion Business Management (2020-23) and Sana Saxena from Fashion Design (2019-23) shared their experiences and cherished memories from their time at IIAD in their final speeches.

The celebratory occasion concluded with a group photo session, capturing the spirit of the day. The wide smiles of all the IIADians and the heartwarming expressions of their loved ones were perfectly encapsulated in the photographs, symbolizing the sense of pride and achievement felt by everyone associated with IIAD.
