Indian Institute of Art & Design celebrates REMIX 2023 an Annual Cultural Fest

Indian Institute of Art & Design (IIAD) hosted its annual cultural fest, REMIX, on March 6th and 7th, 2023, at its campus in Okhla, New Delhi. The event was a huge success, attracting a diverse crowd of students, designers, artists and creative enthusiasts from various colleges and universities across Delhi and NCR.

REMIX 2023 was a two-day event for students to celebrate freedom, creativity and expression. As a design institute, all departments vis-a-vis Communication Design, Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design Fashion Business Management and Foundation department put up various stalls of handcrafted products made by the students themselves.

Bags, Printed T-shirts, Jackets, Diaries, Artistic Lino Prints, cute Bookmarks, Wooden and Terracotta animals, Pen Stands, Bamboo Sound Amplifiers, Paint Brush Holdall etc were some of the sustainable articles created for sale. All the products were environmentally friendly, sustainable and innovative.

Visitors also enjoyed the fun and festivities through several games at the venue and inter-college competitions. One could get their tarot card read by experts, and the ones with a brave heart could also get a tattoo designed by our exceptionally talented student tattoo artists.

The event was packed with exciting activities, including music, a dance-off, a fashion auction, a stand-up comedy performance, business idea pitches and DJ.

RE-IGNITE, RE-TELL, and RE-VOLVE were three different events organised for college and university students. RE-IGNITE was an inter-college business competition where students could present their innovative business ideas, while RE-TELL was a debate competition that allowed participants to develop their communication skills and gain insights into different perspectives. RE-VOLVE was a dance-off event that encouraged dancers to showcase their talents. The first day of the event culminated in a music performance and DJ night, which added to the high-energy and exciting atmosphere of continued festivities.

The second day of Remix started with RE-THINK, a quiz competition. Later in the evening, the event featured RE-VERSE, the closing performance that brought together designers, models, and choreographers for an exciting fashion show.

The Remix 2023 concluded with an award distribution ceremony where the winners of various competitions were recognized and awarded. The ceremony was followed by a Holi celebration,, where participants enjoyed music, dance, and colours to celebrate the festival of Holi.
