To think creatively and sustainably is the mantra used by the fashion designer Mr.Anuj Sharma, founder of Button Masala.
An NID graduate Anuj has honed his technique of using buttons and rubber bands to create amazing clothes and accessories. He has had the opportunity to showcase his work in Japan, UK, Sweden, and Bangladesh etc.
A group of students of the Fashion Designing Program were fortunate to be part of the highly interactive draping session conducted by Mr Anuj Sharma on campus. The session trained students to construct clothes without using any machine, tools, or stitching technique. The students put together alluring garbs using just two pieces of fabric, buttons, rubber bands, and a lot of creativity. This clothing design style fits all body types and can be refurbished from time to time with button and rubber band adjustments.

Mr. Sharma also told the students that the fabric's fluidity plays a vital role in a garment's final form. He said, "Let the garment decide its own destiny." The students learned how to create an aesthetic piece of clothing which only took three-five minutes on an average. The workshop resulted in extremely aesthetic, well constructed and beautifully draped garments
During the design course, the workshop students were helped to appreciate the concept of sustainability and its use in creating wearable garments, carpets, bags, shoes, and even jewelry.
