While applying to design colleges in India as well as overseas, design aspirants need to prepare a portfolio to be presented in front of an expert panel during the admissions process. The portfolio is nothing but a reflection of the aspirant’s interest in the chosen field for instance, Fashion Design, Communication Design and Interior Architecture and Design.
During all the interactions that we have with the students, one of the most frequently asked questions that we are faced with is - How do I create the perfect portfolio that impresses the judging panel during a design entrance exam? Therefore, we at IIAD decided to conduct an interactive webinar that highlights the important aspects involved in creating a portfolio that showcases your talent and interest in the best possible manner.
The webinar video features a number of useful tips that design aspirants could make use of while creating their individual design portfolios. Some of the points covered in the webinar include, the different components of a portfolio, type of work to be included, format specifications and most importantly some of the do’s and don’ts while presenting your portfolio before a panel of judges.
The webinar was organised on 27th April 2017 and it was hosted by Ms. Prachi Mittal, who is the course leader for the Foundation Year programme at IIAD. She was joined by her colleagues from the Admissions and Outreach Department, Mr. Manish Mangla and Ms. Bhavvna Jolly who answered student queries on portfolio and the IIAD admissions process.
